Amazon is the largest eCommerce website in the world. Its success is largely due to the wide availability of products it offers to everyone, everywhere. Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon, has a net worth of over $115 billion.

Bezos has benefited substantially from his company, and so can you! Many people overlook how they can earn money using Amazon because of sites like eBay and are missing out on a huge opportunity.

Fortunately, you won’t be. There is a way to use Amazon for your financial gain no matter your situation. I’m going to show you how.

1. Deliver Packages

One of the simplest ways to earn money through Amazon is to deliver packages for the company. You don’t have to apply and sign on as an official Amazon employee to do this, either.

One relatively new program that Amazon offers is called Amazon Flex. It’s like Uber but for delivering packages to people. This means that you set your own hours and essentially become your own boss while earning an average of $18-$25 per hour.

To get started, simply download the Amazon Flex app and sign up. (Restrictions apply.)

2. Advertise on Your Blog or Website

Do you like to blog? Do you have your own website? You can make money doing what you love if you join the Amazon affiliate marketing program.

As an associate, you are required to use special affiliate links to products on Amazon in your blog posts. If your readers use your link to buy the products, a portion of the profits goes to you.

Be aware that how much you earn fluctuates greatly based on your site traffic and how many followers actually buy a product using your link.

3. Work As an Amazon Representative

Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world with over 650,000 employees. As the company continues to expand so does the demand for new hires. As an Amazon representative, you can work from the comfort of your own home while still earning up to $30K annually.

There are two remote representative positions: data entry and customer service. If you have experience and skill in one or both of these areas, apply!

4. Join the Mechanical Turk Program

Amazon owns a marketplace for crowdsourcing small tasks like research, data entry, and surveys called Mechanical Turk or MTurk, as it is more commonly known.

If you join the program, you have the opportunity to take on these small tasks and get paid for your work! This does not pay as well as even a part-time job would but it’s a great way to make some extra cash.

5. Work in the Amazon Warehouse

If you need a full-time job that pays around $30K annually, apply to work in an Amazon fulfillment/distribution warehouse in your area.

As a warehouse employee, your job includes packing, storing, and shipping products sold by Amazon or its third-party sellers. The pay isn’t bad but be aware that the job isn’t exactly easy. You need to be able to lift heavy objects, stand for hours at a time, and move constantly. If you have physical limitations that prevent you from doing so, you’d be better suited applying for one of the remote positions mentioned above.

6. Sell Your Own Products

If you have your own business making private label products, one of the best ways to make money on Amazon is by becoming a third-party seller. Amazon’s Fulfillment By Amazon network (FBA) is an extremely popular method of advertising and selling private label products.

The biggest benefit of joining the FBA network is getting a huge audience to advertise to. Millions of people use the site to purchase everything they need so your customer base could skyrocket in no time.

7. Sell Another Company’s Products

Another popular way to make extra cash is to use Amazon FBA to sell other companies’ products. How do you do that without getting into trouble? You buy wholesale.

Selling wholesale products on Amazon is okay as long as you bought the goods first. The trick is to buy them for a low enough price that you can make a profit back through reselling them. You can mark up the price of products by a little but it can be difficult to sell on Amazon because there are many other wholesalers doing the same thing and you have to compete with their prices to attract more buyers.

In the end, this can be risky because not everyone makes back all of the money they spend buying the products in the first place. That said, you can earn thousands of dollars every month if you’re business savvy.

8. Flip Your Store-Bought Goods

Many sellers on Amazon started out by using retail arbitrage to make a profit. Retail arbitrage is simple, but you have to have an eye for trends.

How it works:

1. You buy a large number of discounted goods from your local retailer (i.e. Target, Walmart, Best Buy.)

2. As supply decreases and demand increases, you resell the goods at a price markup.

Retail arbitrage is most successful around the holidays. Parents are desperate to get their children the toy that they’ve been raving about all winter but they can’t find it anywhere. As a reseller, you ensured that this would happen by taking a large portion of the supply. Panicking, the parents turn to Amazon in a last attempt to find the perfect gift and they find your store. At this point, they won’t care about the price increase because they care more about their child’s happiness.

Some people find retail arbitrage a little sleazy but it’s a surefire way to turn a profit if you play your cards right.

9. Sell Your Books

If you are a talented writer, you could make considerable amounts of money publishing your works on Amazon. The Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) program allows you to publish and sell and makes the entire process easy and relatively stress-free!

Don’t rely on this to make you rich and famous. It’s possible to make a lot of money (as in tens of thousands of dollars) selling your books through KDP but you have to compete with the already rich and famous authors as well as authors who have already gained a following on Amazon.

10. Sell Your Services

Amazon is quick to spot the next lucrative business model and create their own version. This is true of their Amazon Services program. With the rise in popularity of gig apps like Rover, Fiverr, and Taskrabbit, it’s becoming easier to offer up your services to others for payment. Amazon Services is just like these more well-known apps.

With this new program, you can sell your services and have Amazon connect you with clients in need of your help. If you are a dog walker, a babysitter, a music teacher, etc. then Amazon Services can help you turn your skill into cash.

11. Sell Your Handmade Items

Artisans everywhere have been relying on local marketplaces to sell their handcrafted goods but Amazon makes it possible to reach a broader audience with Amazon Handmade! This is the most difficult option because you only get to use the platform if invited to do so. If you are one of the lucky few, however, your sales could skyrocket overnight just from selling on Amazon. Amazon provides plenty of ways to make money; you just need a little skill, a little savvy, and a willingness to put in some effort.
